Located on Sri Lanka's beautiful south coast, Ocean Tribe is a surf camp and yoga retreat built for travelers who love the ocean. We welcome beach bums, yoga enthusiasts, surfers of all levels, and anyone seeking that vitamin sea lifestyle. Our eco-friendly guesthouse sits just across the road from the beach in Weligama, one of the most picturesque surfing spots along the coast. We've designed it to feel like a home away from home - a place where you can share stories at our community dinners, catch waves with new friends, and truly unwind. The Indian Ocean provides gentler conditions than other oceans, making it ideal for beginners learning to pop up and for intermediate surfers working on their technique. Our ISA certified coaches take small groups to the best spots each day, with theory classes and video analysis to help you progress. For experienced surfers, we offer guiding to explore the variety of breaks along the coast. Beyond surfing, we host daily rooftop yoga sessions at sunset, run a restaurant serving Sri Lankan and Western cuisine, and have created a comfortable space for digital nomads with reliable WiFi and long-term stay options. We've built Ocean Tribe with sustainability in mind - local materials, locally-sourced furniture, water treatment systems, and no single-use plastic.
