THE WAVE SURF SCHOOL / BAR / SHOP

La Wave Surf School is located in Somo, Cantabria, within Spain's first surf reserve and considered the birthplace of Spanish surfing. Founded by passionate surfers and brothers who grew up riding waves around the world, the school offers a comprehensive surf learning experience based on three core pillars: safety, fun, and learning. The team consists of certified instructors with over 15 years of experience teaching surfing. Each session combines theory and practice, with daily analysis of conditions, proper equipment guidance, and personalized feedback. Groups are organized by skill level to ensure everyone progresses at their own pace. The training program is divided into four levels: Debutantes (complete beginners learning basics in whitewater), Iniciación (developing consistent pop-ups and directional control), Avanzado (surfing green waves with carving and maneuvering), and Tecnificación (competition prep and advanced techniques with video analysis). Beyond regular lessons, La Wave offers youth surf camps during summer with accommodation in shared rooms at their Surf House, located just 5 minutes from the beach. The facility includes a garden with training equipment, surfskate practice areas, and a beach bar serving healthy food and drinks.
