Escuela de Surf Los Locos (Los Locos Surf School) is one of Cantabria's established surf schools, located on the peninsula that separates Los Locos beach from La Concha beach in the town of Suances. The school operates from a three-story Surf House with approximately 300 square meters of space, five shared bedrooms, three bathrooms, a kitchen, lounge, and garden with direct views over La Concha bay.
The main program is their summer youth surf camp, running from late June through early August. Designed for ages 11-17, these camps offer intensive surf training with two lessons daily, plus complementary activities like SUP, surf-skate, and beach sports. All meals are included (full board with four daily meals), and monitors supervise campers 24 hours. Week-long camps run 840 EUR, with the option to extend to two consecutive weeks for 1650 EUR.
Outside the summer youth season, the Surf House welcomes adult surfers year-round. The basic package includes accommodation with breakfast and daily lessons from 65 EUR per person per day. For those wanting to improve faster, the video analysis package adds filmed sessions with instructor feedback.
The location is ideal for learning. Both beaches are a short walk away, and the peninsula creates different wave conditions depending on swell direction. The instructors are certified through the Spanish Surfing Federation and know these breaks intimately. Equipment is included in all packages, with boards appropriate for each skill level.
The school is sponsored by Billabong and maintains connections with the Spanish and Cantabrian Surfing Federations. They take safety seriously, with all packages including civil liability and accident insurance.
