Water Temperature:

• Winter (Dec-Mar): 12-14°C (4/3mm fullsuit + booties recommended)
• Spring (Apr-May): 14-16°C (4/3mm or 3/2mm fullsuit)
• Summer (Jun-Aug): 18-21°C (3/2mm or 2mm shorty)
• Autumn (Sep-Nov): 15-18°C (3/2mm or 4/3mm fullsuit)

Tidal Range: Large tidal range of 3-4 meters significantly affects most breaks. Many reef breaks only work at specific tides. Beach breaks are more forgiving. Check tide charts before sessions.

Currents: Strong rips at beach breaks, especially during larger swells. Rivermouths like Mundaka and Rodiles have complex currents. Respect local knowledge.

Hazards: Rocks at reef breaks (Santa Marina, Meñakoz). Pollution at some urban spots. Summer jellyfish in Asturias. Fishing lines near jetties. Large cleanup sets at big-wave spots require fitness and experience.
