Villa Mandala

Villa Mandala sits on the rugged Moroccan coastline just outside Taghazout, operating as Surf Maroc's dedicated yoga retreat center. The focus here is on yoga practice with a comprehensive program that includes creative Vinyasa, pranayama, restorative, yin, yoga nidra, and meditation, adapted to all levels from beginners to experienced practitioners. The retreat runs on a fixed Saturday-to-Saturday schedule, with 90-minute yoga sessions twice daily in the rooftop shala. This purpose-built space measures 6 by 11 meters with glass doors that open to panoramic views of the beach, ocean, and mountains. The shala comes fully equipped with mats, blocks, straps, bolsters, blankets, and sandbags. Between yoga sessions, qualified surf instructors take guests to waves suited to their ability. The program caters to beginners and intermediates, with boards and wetsuits provided from Surf Maroc's hire center. Villa Mandala has nine tranquil bedrooms, each with its own theme and character. Seven rooms have ensuite shower rooms, while two share a large bathroom. Room names like Scarlet, Emerald, Butterfly, and Bougainvillea hint at the eclectic Moroccan-inspired decor throughout. The in-house chefs prepare vegetarian meals using local seasonal ingredients, blending Moroccan and international recipes. Communal meals on the terrace overlooking the ocean form a central part of the retreat experience. Breakfast, packed lunch for the beach, dinner, and afternoon tea with cake are all included. The property features a small plunge pool on the front terrace, a spacious Berber-style living room looking out to Banana beach, and a dedicated host team available around the clock.
