Welcome to Clapo Surf Camp in Imsouane, Morocco - your family home by the ocean. Founded by brothers Abderrahim (Clapo) and Houssine, both professional surfers competing nationally and internationally, this is more than a surf camp. Together with their Berber mother Aicha, they've created an authentic Moroccan surf experience where guests become family.
The camp is perfectly positioned in Imsouane, just a 4-minute walk from two world-class surf spots: The Bay (an 800-meter longboarder paradise, one of the longest right-hand waves in Morocco) and Cathedral (a more challenging reef break for intermediate to advanced surfers). With 340 days of sunshine per year, this is an ideal year-round surf destination.
What sets Clapo apart is the family atmosphere and personalized attention. Surf instructors are ISA-certified professionals with national competition experience. Lessons are capped at 5 students per instructor to ensure quality coaching. Sessions include theory on land, wave reading, surf etiquette, and in-water guidance with individual feedback. Photo and video analysis helps track your progress throughout the week.
The surf house features comfortable rooms from shared dorms to private king suites with balconies and ocean views. Common areas include a sunny living room, dining area, and a rooftop terrace perfect for yoga, sunset watching, and simply relaxing between sessions.
Food is a highlight - Aicha and Chef Chouaib prepare traditional Moroccan dishes daily with fresh local ingredients. Expect homemade bread baked each morning, colorful tagines, fresh fish from the harbor, and spices that tell stories. Dietary restrictions are accommodated including vegetarian, vegan, and gluten-free options.
Beyond surfing, guests can enjoy yoga classes on the rooftop, cooking classes to learn Moroccan recipes, trips to Essaouira, sandboarding in the dunes, Paradise Valley excursions, and boat fishing with local fishermen.
