Welcome to the salty life at Awa Surf Camp, a laid-back surf retreat in Imsouane, Morocco. The camp was built by founders Said and Liz with their own hands, creating an authentic space where surfers from around the world come together. The main surf spot is The Bay, Africa's longest right-hand wave, perfect for longboarding and learning to surf. For more advanced surfers, Cathedral offers a faster, shorter wave nearby.
The camp features a cozy surf house with multiple room options from private doubles to shared dorms. Guests enjoy homemade Moroccan meals prepared by Chef Mohammed, served communally on the rooftop terrace with sea views. Evenings are spent around the bonfire, playing cards, and sharing stories with fellow travelers.
Surf programs include All In Surf packages for beginners and intermediates with daily lessons (max 5 students per instructor), theory sessions, and free surf time. Equipment is provided including wetsuits, boards, leash, and wax. The Free Surfer package is ideal for those who want to practice independently while enjoying accommodation and meals.
Additional activities include yoga classes with instructor Elena, trips to Essaouira, surf skate lessons, sandboarding in the dunes, and visits to Paradise Valley. The team is passionate about creating a welcoming atmosphere where guests feel at home from day one.
