Holy Surf sits in Sidi Kaouki, a laid-back fishing village 15 kilometers from Essaouira that ranks among Morocco's top five surf destinations. The camp is run by Pauline and Houssam, a couple who've built something special here - guests consistently describe the atmosphere as family-like rather than commercial.
Houssam brings 14 years of surfing experience and holds a Federal Surf Instructor BF1 certification, the highest coaching qualification in the French surf federation system. His 8 years as a lifeguard monitor adds another layer of water safety expertise. The sandy beaches around Sidi Kaouki break in various ways, making them suitable for complete beginners learning to pop up and experienced surfers hunting clean walls.
The camp operates from two properties. The Beach Hostel offers simpler rooms right by the water, while the Beach House Villa provides more comfort with a pool and garden setting. Both share the same welcoming approach and three daily meals of traditional Moroccan cuisine.
Beyond surfing, the camp offers yoga sessions led by Yoga Alliance certified teachers - a good complement for stretching out after surf sessions. There's also the option to explore: horse riding, quad tours, and the historic city of Essaouira are all part of the experience.
