About
Sayulita Surf Camps offers customized surf adventures for all levels in the charming surf village of Sayulita, Mexico. With ISA-certified bilingual instructors and a focus on quality over quantity, they provide personalized surf lessons and trips tailored to individual goals, from first-time surfers to those looking to advance their skills.
Located just 35-50 minutes north of Puerto Vallarta International Airport in Sayulita, Nayarit, Sayulita Surf Camps specializes in personalized surf instruction that prioritizes quality over quantity. The team conducts only one surf session per day, timing each lesson to match optimal tide conditions for beginner surfers. With no time limits on sessions, instructors work with guests until they achieve their goals.
The professional team consists of close friends and local surfers who are well-known throughout Mexico and internationally. All instructors hold ISA (International Surfing Association) certification along with ocean rescue, CPR, and first aid training. They have surfed extensively across destinations including Hawaii, Canary Islands, Maldives, the Caribbean, and throughout Mexico and California.
Surf sessions typically last around 3 hours with a coach ratio of 2:1 for private lessons and approximately 1:1.5 for small groups. The program covers surf techniques, body awareness and balance, ocean safety, wave-catching etiquette, and understanding surf conditions and wave breaks. Lessons are conducted at various beaches depending on conditions, including Punta de Mita, La Lancha, San Pancho, and other local breaks.
Beyond surfing, Sayulita offers daily yoga classes, organic food options, local fish markets, and a vibrant restaurant and bar scene right on the beach where guests can watch professional surfers perform after their sessions.
