Punta Chipehua Surf Camp

Punta Chipehua is a local surf camp with one mission: to provide guests with a personalized surf experience in Salina Cruz while respecting and giving back to the community. During your stay, you'll be completely surfed out and immersed in the most delicious Mexican cuisine. The camp is run by Santiago and Sebastian, brothers belonging to the first generation of surfers from Salina Cruz. With over 15 years of experience, their journey began with their family's renowned restaurant "Casa Flor," combined with Santiago's expertise in surf guiding. Salina Cruz has 10+ sand-bottom point breaks perfect for all levels. The southern hemisphere swell season runs from April to September, when the "wave machine" is ON. Swells arrive weekly, sometimes back-to-back. The team recommends a minimum stay of 5 days to explore the best waves and ride multiple swells. Casa Flor is a spacious, fully air-conditioned surf house located less than 15 minutes from the first surf spot. It features 4 rooms accommodating up to 10 guests, each with private bathrooms and hot water. The house has high-speed WiFi, a main gathering table for dinners, a TV area for surf replays, and a terrace with outdoor showers and an ice bath for recovery. The daily rhythm starts at 5:30 AM with a self-serve continental breakfast. The team constantly checks forecasts to score the best waves, considering wind, tides, swell direction, and crowd levels. Transport is via 4x4 trucks equipped with coolers of cold water. Sessions can be split (morning + sunset) or run as full 8+ hour days with meals at the beach. Every session ends with freshly cooked Mexican cuisine prepared by the in-house chef.
