About
Paradise Surf Camp sits in the wave-rich Krui region of Southern Sumatra, overlooking Ujung Bocur (Karang Nyimbor), one of the most consistent lefthanders in Indonesia. This budget-friendly camp offers private beachfront bungalows to traveling surfers looking for a real Indo experience without the crowds, packed boats, and aggression found at more popular spots. Good waves, uncrowded lineups, and freshly cooked local and Western food for less than $35 USD per night.
Run by Widya and the team, Paradise Surf Camp offers clean, private single/double occupancy bungalows with ocean views. Each self-contained bungalow comes with beds, a fan, electrical outlets, locks, and a small porch looking out to the surf. The camp sits just 5 minutes from the waves, which can be checked from the property. Facilities include western bathrooms with hot water showers, WiFi and cell connectivity, 24-hour security, lookout areas for checking conditions, and a chill-out area with surf magazines, a book exchange, chess boards, pool table, and ping-pong. The on-site kitchen serves three home-cooked meals daily, blending Indonesian dishes like Nasi Goreng with Western favorites like banana pancakes and grilled fish. A small store sells beers, sodas, waters, cookies, and cigarettes, plus fresh fruit juices and smoothies from the juice bar.
