Hai Surf Camp

Hai Surf Camp sits beachfront in the Utara district of South Sumatra, about an hour north of Krui town. The camp puts you within reach of three world-class surf breaks: Honey Smacks, Jimmy's Right, and Jenny's Right. These waves attract experienced surfers looking for uncrowded barrels away from the more popular Indonesian surf destinations. The camp has four air-conditioned twin share rooms, each with a private bathroom and hot water. Breakfast comes included, and there's free WiFi throughout the property. After surf sessions, guests can relax in the lounge area overlooking the beach. Honey Smacks is the closest break—a fast, heavy left-hand barrel that works best at 1.8 to 4 meters. Jimmy's Right offers a deep, hollow barrel for experienced surfers only, with a shallow end section that requires careful timing. Jenny's Right provides a longer, more approachable right-hander with good barrel sections and room for maneuvers. Beyond surfing, the area offers snorkeling, blue marlin fishing, waterfall hikes, and wildlife spotting in Lampung National Park. The local community is welcoming, though visitors should respect the conservative Muslim culture by dressing modestly when visiting nearby towns.
