About
Malole Surf House sits directly in front of Rote Island's legendary waves, offering surfers an intimate Indonesian surf experience with over 35 years of local knowledge. Founded by Felipe Pomar, a 1965 World Champion surfer from Peru, the property blends traditional Rotenese architecture with modern comforts and genuine hospitality. Daily boat transfers take guests to T-Land (Lance's Right), one of the world's most iconic right-hand reef breaks, plus access to Bo'a and other surrounding waves. The location on Rote's southwest coast means consistent swell throughout the dry season from April to October. Built with solar power, reverse osmosis water processing, and indigenous materials like stonework and bamboo, Malole demonstrates a commitment to minimal environmental impact while providing comfortable accommodation.
