WavePark Resort Mentawai

WavePark Mentawai is the original full-service land-based surf resort in the Mentawai Islands, hosting guests since 1998. Located on a private tropical island in northern Mentawai near the famous Playgrounds zone, the resort offers exclusive access to some of the best waves in the world with a maximum of 12 guests per trip. The resort features six beachfront private bungalows built from local materials including sago palm thatched roofing and hardwood floors. Each bungalow includes indoor/outdoor en-suite bathroom, couples shower, outdoor daybeds on the verandah, chaise lounges on the beach, 24/7 electricity, in-room sound system, and daily laundry service. The bar and restaurant overlook the bay with chef-prepared Western and Asian fusion cuisine, offering three cooked meals daily plus second breakfast and snacks. With 26 named waves categorized by difficulty (Fun Waves, Challenging Waves, and Charging Waves), WavePark caters to all skill levels from beginners at Playgrounds and BurgerWorld to advanced chargers at Rifles, Kandui, and Bankvaults. All waves are within a 30-minute speedboat ride, and the team boasts 83 combined years of Mentawai surf expertise. Trips run on 10-11 day schedules from April through November, with prices starting at $3,750 USD including private speedboat transfers valued at $500.
