The Point Surf House

The Point Surf House sits on Katiet Beach at the southern end of Sipora Island in the Mentawai Islands. The location puts guests minutes on foot from Ht's (also known as Lance's Right) and just a quick paddle from The Point wave. The property offers four accommodation options: ocean view rooms with king beds, triple rooms for traveling friends, standard doubles, and jungle view rooms with private terraces. All rooms feature air conditioning, en suite bathrooms with warm water showers, and daily housekeeping with laundry service available. Food is a highlight, with an Indo-Mediterranean kitchen serving three chef-prepared meals daily. The menu blends local Indonesian ingredients with Mediterranean cooking techniques, and the team accommodates vegetarian diets. Coffee, tea, and mineral water flow throughout the day. Beyond surfing, guests can book snorkeling excursions through coral tunnels, hike to hidden waterfalls and rice fields, or rent scooters to explore the island. Yoga retreats and detox programs are available on request. The camp has Starlink internet and a gym for digital nomads wanting to balance work with surf sessions. Ivan and Laia run the operation, with Ivan in the water daily to advise on conditions and guide guests to the right breaks based on their ability and the day's swell.
