Aleikoat Surfcamp Mentawai

Born and raised in the Mentawai Islands, Bian (known locally as Bibiu in Siberut) founded Aleikoat Surfcamp after years of experience working at surf camps and hotels across the region. The name 'Aleikoat' means 'friend of the sea' in Mentawaian, reflecting his lifelong connection to the ocean through fishing, canoeing, and surfing. The camp sits on a small, remote island in the Northern Mentawais, measuring roughly 200 by 400 meters. The location puts you minutes away from famous waves like Beng Bengs, Hideaways, Goodtimes, and Eret. Most surf spots are between 5 to 30 minutes by boat. With only 6 guests at a time, you get a personal and flexible experience. The crew are mostly family members who treat guests like their own. You can choose your arrival date and stay anywhere from 7 days to as long as you wish, though 10+ days is recommended given the travel time. The bigger swells run from May to August, while shoulder seasons (February-April and September-November) work well for intermediate surfers looking to build their skills. Spots like Goodtimes and Eret offer waves suitable for intermediates even during high season, and the team provides surf guidance in the water if needed.
