Surf Camp Lombok sits right on the beach in Gerupuk, a small fishing village on Lombok's south coast with direct boat access to seven world-class surf breaks. Running since 2006, it's the longest-operating surf camp on the island. The camp offers one and two-week intensive programs for all levels, with two surf sessions daily, theory classes, video analysis, and daily yoga. Boats are anchored just in front of the beachfront skate bowl, getting you from breakfast to the lineup in minutes.
What started as a boat adventure through the Indonesian archipelago in 2005 became Surf Camp Lombok after the founders discovered Gerupuk Bay and its seven diverse waves. The camp has grown organically over the years, built step by step into something between a stranded ship and a traditional Indonesian longhouse. The local crew from Gerupuk village bring authentic Indonesian hospitality, while western and local surf coaches guide guests through structured programs with land-based theory, in-water coaching, and video reviews. Beyond surfing, the camp runs yoga sessions in a private shala, hosts a skate bowl that doubles as a community gathering point for locals and visitors, and offers freediving courses. The restaurant serves three meals daily with vegetables from local farms and fish from the bay. Accommodation ranges from social dorms in the bamboo longhouse to ocean-view teak cabins, each option keeping you just steps from the sand.
