Puresurfcamp St. Girons

Puresurfcamps St. Girons occupies a prime spot in a pine forest directly behind the dunes, just 150 meters from the beach at St. Girons Plage. This youth surf camp (Jugendreise) is designed specifically for teenagers aged 13-17 who want their first independent holiday experience. The camp operates with 24-hour supervision by trained youth travel leaders (Jugendreiseleiter) throughout the season. The setting combines surfing focus with summer camp atmosphere - think slacklines between the pines, table tennis, longboard cruising through the forest paths, and evening chill sessions. Surfing is the main event. The surf school is sponsored by Quiksilver and Roxy, recognized by the German Surf Federation (DWV), and staffed by ISA-certified instructors. Groups are kept small (max 1:8 ratio) and courses run over 5-6 days with a mix of water time and theory including wave reading and ocean currents. Equipment is included in course fees. The campsite recently added a pool complex with water slides - a welcome addition for post-surf cool-downs. Volleyball, basketball, and football are available on the campsite. The beach promenade in St. Girons Plage has surf shops, cafes, and a small supermarket for supplies. Full board is included: breakfast buffet, packed lunch you make yourself, and a hot dinner with always-available vegan options. The accommodation ranges from classic double igloo tents to wooden Sheddies and comfort tents with real beds and electricity. Optional extras include a day trip to San Sebastian in Spain's Basque Country (39 EUR), combining beaches, tapas, and culture in one of Europe's most distinctive coastal cities.
