Planet Surfcamp Le Pin Sec is one of the most relaxed surf camps on the French Atlantic coast, located about an hour south of Bordeaux. The camp sits directly behind the dunes on a quiet stretch of beach, making it a favorite among surfers looking for uncrowded waves and a laid-back atmosphere. The camp operates from July to September and caters to adults 18 and over, with most guests aged between 18 and 35. Unlike busier spots like Vieux Boucau and Moliets, Le Pin Sec offers a more intimate experience with pine forests, empty roads, and plenty of space to breathe. Accommodation is in comfortable glamping tents with wooden floors, mattresses, and bedding provided. The tents sleep two people and offer a step up from traditional camping without losing that outdoor feel. Surf courses run with groups of up to 8 students per instructor, all ISA or BSA certified and speaking German, English, and Spanish. You can choose between 12 or 22 surf sessions per week, with equipment available for free use outside of lessons. Beyond surfing, the camp includes daily breakfast and dinner, 5 yoga sessions per week, salsa classes, beach volleyball, table tennis, skateboarding, and regular evening parties. Bus transfers are available from multiple cities in Germany and Switzerland. For those wanting to explore, Lacanau Ocean is just 30 minutes away and offers nightlife, restaurants, and additional surf spots. But most guests find everything they need right at camp, including a small shop for essentials.
