What sets OCO apart is the focus on progression for intermediate surfers. If you can already paddle out and catch waves but want to improve your turns, generate more speed, or work on specific maneuvers, this is the place. Mika brings years of coaching experience and a genuinely fun teaching style. The video coaching sessions each evening are both educational and entertaining - expect to learn from watching yourself and laugh at the wipeouts. The surf house sits in the center of Lit-et-Mixe village, about 10 minutes from the beaches at Cap de l'Homy. The less crowded beach break there offers waves for all levels with sandbars that shift between hollow and mellow. Mika drives everyone to the beach in the van and picks the best bank for the conditions. Between sessions you have access to boards and wetsuits for free surfing. The house has a large garden with a magnolia tree, ping pong table, surf skate access, and a slackline for balance training. Evenings revolve around communal dinners prepared by Debo, followed by the video debrief and board games. The vibe is relaxed and social without being a party house.
