Manusurf House

Manusurf was founded in 1999 by Emmanuel de Saint Remy, making it the first surf school in the Vendee region. What started as a small operation has grown into a complete surf house concept: lessons, accommodation, restaurant, and surf shop all in one location. The main base sits at Les Conches beach (Entrance 13) in Longeville sur Mer, right next to the famous Bud Bud spot. This stretch of coast offers quality beach breaks with significantly fewer crowds than the surf-heavy Landes coast to the south. The pine forest backdrop and preserved beaches give it a distinct Atlantic coast character. Accommodation happens at the Guesthouse in Le Bernard village, a renovated 1970s house 5-10 minutes from the water. Three bedrooms sleep 10 across private and shared rooms, all with private bathroom access. The setup works like a laid-back surf lodge: shared kitchen for self-catering, communal living room with fireplace, and a sunny terrace with ping-pong and BBQ. Coaching comes from FFS (Federation Francaise de Surf) certified instructors who know every sandbar and current in the area. Sessions adapt to conditions - the team can drive you to different spots within a 20km radius based on swell direction and size. Boards and wetsuits are included. The on-site restaurant Le Banc de Sable handles the food situation, though the kitchen is yours for self-catering if you prefer. Breakfast timing flexes around the tides.
