Surf Camp Down Under

Surf Camp Down Under was founded in 2016 by a team of passionate surfers who have taught at some of the biggest surf schools around the world. With over 30 years of coaching experience combined between the team, they have fine-tuned their approach to suit surfers of any level or age. The team includes Shayno Sutherland ("if he's not in the ocean, someone call 000"), Courtney Ann (an ocean lover and inspirational role model for young girls), and Shane Powell, a former world #1 who guests on the mens high performance weekends to share stories from his tour days and expert coaching tips. What sets Surf Camp Down Under apart is their community-first approach. As they put it: "We are not a surf school, we are a community." They guarantee you'll stand up or you don't pay, and this confidence shows in their 2025 Hall of Fame Award from Surfing Australia. They operate in Yamba, Angourie, Brooms Head, and Minnie Waters, with surf camps offering weekend (3 days/2 nights with 4 surf sessions) and 5-day formats (5 days/4 nights with 8 surf sessions). Camps include accommodation, meals, coffee, and a few beers and wines to cap off the sessions.
